Learn how to get started with WebCT including putting your syllabus online and setting up a space for discussions and interactions. Plus, a brief overview of what tools WebCT has to offer. Faculty who attend will be given their own WebCT course shell to work with. To get the most out of this class, we recommend you bring your syllabus on a disk.
For those new to WebCT, we'll look at how you might use Email, the Discussion Board, Chat, and Whiteboard in a course. For those with experience, we'll talk about some strategies for managing communications so that you aren't overwhelmed with student requests
WebCT Quizzes are a bit of work up front, but once you've got your questions established, they are there forever and can be used in any arrangement. We'll learn how to input questions and to set up quizzes.
Respondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Blackboard, eCollege, WebCT and other eLearning systems. Exams can be created offline using a familiar Windows environment, or moved from one eLearning system to another.
If you have students submit a number of documents to you via email, there may be a better way. The Assignments tool can help you stay organized and set hard and fast due dates for assignments.
Tired of emailing your students their grades or being asked if it's graded yet? The Grade Book is for you. You can create grade columns, input information about students, release grades as you are ready, and set up formulas to calculate grades for you.
You are the expert in terms of what needs to be done to your course. You'll learn to create and save backups for safekeeping and as a record, to reset your course for the upcoming semester, delete students who've dropped, and other tips and tricks to put YOU in control.
