Multiple Choice Questions
Multiple choice: students select either one or multiple correct answers to a question.
-
From your course Homepage, in Designer Options view (the default location and view when
you log in as an instructor), Click on the link you created with the Quiz/Survey Tool.
In this example, the link is titled "Quizzes".
-
Select "Question Bank" from the Quizzes/Surveys page.
-
You should see a page similar to the one below. Note the Category and Question Type selections
that must be made before creating the new question.
-
After selecting the desired category for your question, select the type of question you wish to add from
the drop-down box. For this example, select "Multiple Choice" then click on "Go".
-
Enter the question title and the content of the question. One suggestion
is to use enough of the initial part of the actual question so that when
you see just a list of the titles, you will be able to easily associate
the title with the actual question.
-
In the Settings page, select the layout and number of correct
responses for your question. Please note that "Randomized"
answer order makes it impossible to recreate the answer
order that a particular student experienced when they took
the quiz. "All or nothing" scoring applies whenever
"Multiple answers" per question are required for a completely
correct response.
-
Moving down on the page, type in the responses from which
the student must choose. Indicate which of these responses
is the correct answer. If there are more than one correct
answers, type in the percent allocation of points between
the answers. Note that if you want the student to receive
feedback to their selection, type that feedback in the
appropriate block for each answer.
-
Or you may enter a "General Feedback" for the whole question.
When you have entered all of the possible responses, click "Save".
- To enter additional questions into this category, return to Step #4.
-
To view the specific instructions associated with creating the different question types, please click
the appropriate link below. Note that a True / False question is a form of a Multiple
Choice question. However, there are only two possible answers, either True or False.
