Adding Assignments in WebCT

The Assignments Tool provides a link for students to use as a convenient means of electronically obtaining the assignment you give them and for electronically submitting their work in fulfilling the assignment. It also creates a nice organizational structure and can provide deadlines for assignments. Those latter two functions alone often make it preferable to having students submit assignments via email.

There are 4 tasks to complete in creating assignments in your WebCT Course site:

  1. Adding the Assignments Tool to your course (if it's not already there).
  2. Adding Links to each Assignment.
  3. Inputting directions and configuring settings.
  4. Once students have submitted assignments, you have two options for viewing them for grading purposes:
    1. Viewing submissions one by one in WebCT.
    2. Downloading them all to your computer as one zipped file.
