Chat

You might use WebCT's Chat to communicate with other students or your instructor in real time. You would usually plan to meet in a certain chat room on a designated date and time. It's much like a phone conversation, but you type in all your comments and everyone can see what everyone else in the room is saying.

You can see the Chat interface in the graphic below.

Chat Tips

  • Use the Enter key on your keyboard to submit your messages.
  • Send URL allows you to send a link to a web page to other participants.
  • If you click on a person's name in the list of those in the chat, it will send that person a private message that only you and he or she can see. Be sure to click off his or her name to resume chatting with the entire group.
  • Chats in Rooms 1-4 are recorded.

FUN FACT:

"In 1996 the UHCL School of Education introduced its teacher-in-residence program, a partnership with area school districts to bring seasoned teachers to UHCL classrooms."
